Pit Bulls On Crack was formed in 1986 from five dudes Al, Andy, Gregg, Glenn and Dave, practicing in basements and ballet studios around Bloomington, Indiana's University campus. It started off with two guitras played by Gregg and Andy and Al on drums. Messing around with the Batman theme and a couple of surf songs they sharpened their chops. Andy asked his friends Glenn and Dave if they wanted to join adding vocals and bass. Dave had played with Andy in a punk band named Blood Farmers for about three years prior. College bands were becoming the rage but these guys didn't really care about keeping up appearences they just wanted to rouque. They soon learned some more covers as a five piece to see if they could tolerate each others company. Soon Tequilla by the Champs and Sonic Reducer by the Dead Boys were added to the repetoir. They began writing originals and adding them to the setlist giving them a reason to play out. their first gigs were college partys ,lots of them... PBOC developed a talent of packing up their gear from wherever they were practicing, loading up a car and crashing partys sometimes 2-3 a weekend night. Usually Al or Glenn would go inside clear a space and say 'is it okay if the band sets up here, okay bring it in guys.' and move in like they owned the place. PBOC has recorded many demos since the days of college rock and formed many splinter groups but as the Pit Bulls they remain a titanium keystone.
